I think I linked to a seperate guide for direct link between Ps2PC using ethernet and enabling SMB v1.Īs far as I remember (I'm all about security) password authentication does work. Also, I can't acess the internet on the PC when doing this unless I use the wifi connection.Ĭlick to expand.Yes, many typos on the guide as I havent quite polished it up just yet, 192 instead of 129 etc. Since I'm doing this via wifi do I have to change my PC's ethernet settings at all? It is annoying having to set it everytime I want to play via OPL and afterwards put it back the way it was when not playing as well as having to check the "Turn on password protected sharing" setting on "Advanced sharing settings" everytime I want to play via OPL and afterwards uncheck it when not playing. Also, the black borders (on the PAL version since I couldn't play the NTSC one) are big so can I stretch the screen? Maybe it's because it's over 4.3 GB or because I'm doing this via wifi after connecting my PS2 to the router via an ethernet cable and the laptop to the router via another ethernet cable (I think the latter doesn't matter) instead of the PC to the PS2 via another enter cable? This game also had this problem after I converted it to DVD5 and burned it to a DVD so maybe it's its fault and not mine? I tried the NTSC version and I had a white screen. I was able to play a game via SMB on OPL but it stutters on the FMVs. Also, I can't access some websites on the PC's browsers when doing this unless I use the wifi connection. Also, I think you should mention that on the latest Windows 10 versions we should manually enable " SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support" on Windows Features or it won't work (it was disabled by Microsoft on the latest Windows 10 versions) and that if we check the "Turn on password protected sharing" setting on "Advanced sharing settings" we'll have the Error 301 on OPL when trying to log into the SMB server. On the 6th step, you mention "SMB Device Start Mode" when OPL (at least the version I'm using) doesn't have this setting but "ETH Device Start Mode" (maybe ithe setting you mentioned was renamed to this) and on "IP Adress" you mention "129.168.0.2" when I think that what you meant to say was "192.168.0.2". Also, the black borders (on the PAL version since I couldn't play the NTSC one) are big so can I stretch the screen?Ĭan I have lag when playing from an external HDD connected to the PC (I want to avoid wasting my PC's HDD)? When moving the PS2SMB folder to the external HDD and from it to the PC's HDD the permissions are reset and when reinstalling Windows 10, connecting the external HDD to another PC (maybe even on the same network) and in other cases I guess I have to set the permissions on the folder again.Īlso, on your tutorial I think you made some typos.
